MIKE SHANNON – TACTILE GREEN EP

A deep and atmospheric piece of minimal techno and underground house history from Canadian producer Mike Shannon and his influential Cynosure Records label.

Released in 2007, Tactile Green EP is the third and final chapter in Shannon's Tactile series. The record explores a deeper, slightly melancholic side of his sound, combining crisp percussion, warm synthesizers, Detroit-inspired textures and long, hypnotic grooves designed for the late-night dancefloor.

The EP features two extended tracks: “Devotional,” a slowly building, atmospheric journey that develops into a powerful groove, and “Quetschkomode,” a playful and off-kilter house track driven by an unusual arpeggiated synth line and shuffling rhythm. Together, they perfectly represent the distinctive swing, funk and experimental character associated with the Cynosure sound.

The artwork is equally memorable, featuring an atmospheric coastal scene with people scattered through the water beneath a dark sky—giving the record a beautiful, mysterious visual identity that perfectly complements its deep and emotional sound.
